PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE II
Instructor: StaffDepartment: GRADUATE CREDIT
Credits: 3 Instruction Method: HYBL
Status: OPEN
Professional Practice II (PP2) builds on Professional Practice I (PP1), and runs in two concurrent modules, A and B. Part A (weighted 40%) is an in-depth exploration of the economic and socio-cultural value of the student’s own creative discipline. It examines the business practices of their professional discipline and how these operate alongside that of others. Part B (weighted 60%) allows students to further assess their own role and economic potential in the business of creativity, and advance their “hard” and “soft” skills. Students will finesse their resume and portfolios, and make a plan to fully exploit their participation in the CCS end of the year show. Drawing up a list of potential employers, students will prepare themselves for the job market, or self-employment. Overall the course aims to further develop students understanding of their own potential in the creative sector and sense of professional self-worth.
