The Imaging Center is a print service bureau that provides a variety of print services to the CCS community. The IC has two Canon production laser printers, which include basic copying & scanning services, two Epson wide-format printers, and two Epson sheet-feed inkjet printers. In addition, the IC also offers draft quality wide-format printing on an Epson plotter printer. The latest addition to our print services is Risograph printing.
Print services are processed by work-study students from various departments on campus.
On the Canon laser printer, the IC can print up to 13” x 19” and use 110 lb. card stock. Students can provide their own laser paper to print at a low-cost rate; they must bring the paper in its original packaging so that the IC has all of the accurate information on paper type.
On the Epson inkjet printers, the IC can print up to 43.75” wide on a variety of Epson print media. Print jobs are calculated by the square footage of the image size. On the Epson plotter printer, which is a popular choice for students, the IC can print up to 35.75” wide on a variety of different bond paper choices.
When using our inkjet printers, we strongly encourage students to create test strips or hard proofs prior to submitting their final print job. Test strips are incredibly helpful to evaluate color and image resolution.
The Imaging Center also provides various plastic coil and wire binding services, as well as, stack cutting for a low-cost.
Students must submit files to the IC that are print-ready via the online print request forms found to the right. The Imaging Center will accept staff and faculty through the department print request form. If color prints or posters are being charged to a department, an 8-digit budget code number is required in order for the job to be processed. The appropriate account number can be obtained from your Program Manager.
At this time, students will no longer be able to drop off files in person or on a USB drive. All print & binding jobs must be picked up from the IC by appointment. Students and faculty can make an appointment on our Calendly site.
For faculty teaching a sponsored project course, or any other course that will require large-scale printing, please contact the Imaging Center within the first few weeks of the semester with information on what type and how much printing is needed to complete the project and any major due dates. In order to set up a student print budget, the Imaging Center will need a current class roster.
Riso Training in Fall 2021
Want to learn more about Riso printing?
Apply for a 3-week Intro to Riso workshop series.
The Intro to Riso workshop series will run for 2 hours, once a week, for 3 weeks in September.
Learn to print off-the-glass, the basics of color separations and Riso file prep.
Upon completion of the course, you will be able to rent time on the Riso for $10/hour. Riso Room rental includes ink, proofing paper, and individual access to the Risograph.
Availability is limited, but we will try and accommodate as many students as possible. Students will be selected based on their graduation year, scheduling concerns, and first-come, first-serve.
If you are not able to go through training this year, you are still welcome to attend pop-up Riso events, Riso-related club events, one-day mini-workshops, and submit Riso jobs to the IC online, with or without Riso basic training. We also do zoom consultation if you would like help setting up your file for service printing.
More information will be available soon! Keep an eye out for information in the Weekly Student Email & our social media!
