This course is for high school students in Dual,Enrollment program. Course is cross-listed with,DFN 112, and uses same syllabus as required by,Foundations Dept. Taught by Foundations faculty,and students attend with college students.,,Students will expand their understanding of the,fundamentals of drawing and sketching, and develop,their own personal sense of style and enhanced,skill. Advanced drawing techniques are explored,with a focus on complex composition design and the,creation of compelling visual stories. ,Additionally, the human figure will be explored as,a basis of understanding gesture, proportion,,geometric forms in space and the definition of,complex surfaces.

Using concepts of graphic design, students will,design a visual brand campaign to promote a cause,,event, or organization, using modes of,communication including print, UxD, and motion,graphics. Students will learn basic digital design,techniques to produce solutions that reach their,goals and their audience. Adobe Creative Suite,experience is recommended but not required.

Learn to successfully move from reality to,concept,using processes of analysis, experimentation,and conceptualization. Draw from observation,and learn techniques to accurately depict,perspective and proportion, and to render,form, light and shade. Move into concept-based,painting by working your drawings into,preliminary,studies for paintings by changing shape,relationships, creating new value arrangements,,and experimenting with the principle of duality.
