Scholarship Requirements
CCS awards scholarships based strictly on academic excellence and artistic ability. Scholarships are awarded for the purpose of assisting students with tuition costs. Students receiving tuition assistance from their employers will have their actual tuition scholarship reduced accordingly.
CCS Scholarships
Applicants are automatically considered for scholarship money upon completion of admissions requirements. Awards are based on the portfolio review and academic achievement of the applicant.
CCS MFA Scholarships
All graduate applicants are automatically considered for a CCS MFA Scholarship upon completion of the admission requirements. Awards are based on the portfolio review, academic achievement, the interview, and the applicant’s potential for success. If an applicant is awarded a CCS MFA Scholarship, the applicant will receive notification of this scholarship along with their acceptance letter. Recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 to continue receiving these scholarships. Students receiving tuition assistance from their employer or country will not be eligible for these scholarships.
Student Specific Scholarships
CCS will accept any outside student specific scholarships students obtain on their own. CCS does not reduce institutional aid when additional scholarships are received, unless all tuition and fees are paid by the additional scholarship. In rare cases, a student may lose Michigan Tuition Grant/Competitive Scholarship or Subsidized Stafford loan eligibility if they exceed their Demonstrated Need calculation or may have loan funds reduced if they exceed their Cost of Attendance calculation (contact Financial Aid office for more information).
A list of outside scholarship possibilities can be found in the Financial Aid section of Blackboard.
