Declaring a Liberal Arts Minor

Liberal Arts minors require 15 credits to complete. Students should consult with the Liberal Arts Chair for specific information. A Liberal Arts Minor Declaration Form must be signed by the Department Chair and returned to the Academic Advising and Registration Office for processing. Students must complete all credits for the minor listed on the declaration form in addition to the major (or any other programs added to the degree requirements.) Students can share no more than 9.0 credits (please verify) between the general degree requirements and the minor. A maximum of 6.0 transfer credits earned (please verify) from an accredited institution may be applied to a minor in any area of study. Students may be asked to provide a course description or syllabus for transfer credit in question.

The minor may be removed at any time if a student no longer wishes to complete credits or satisfy the minor requirements. To remove a minor, select the “Drop Minor” option on the Liberal Arts Minor Declaration Form. Submit the complete form to the Academic Advising and Registration Office. The minor will be removed and students will then only need to complete the original credits listed for the Bachelor of Fine Arts program.

Minors appear on the final official transcript but do not appear on the diploma.

A list of Liberal Arts Minors is published on the back of the Liberal Arts Minor Declaration Form that can be found on Blackboard under the Academic Advising and Registration Office.
