Summary of Position: The work-study is required to assist the manager and supervisors with daily operations in the shop. This means that the student is expected to complete their duties and responsibilities when assigned in a timely manner; servicing students’ needs, being at work on time and notifying your manager when you will not be able to fulfill these expectations. Students performance will be evaluated on a yearly basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:The work-study are responsible their own work schedule. Other responsibilities include adhering and enforcing shop rules, checking out tools, cleaning, servicing and maintaining equipment while overseeing shop use and safety at a high level of competency. One must be able to offer ideas and procedures, to assist students in the completion of their projects. Specific duties will be assigned and expected to be completed during his or her work shift. Prior to closing, shop tools and equipment must be returned and put away. All work surfaces and floors must be swept. Technicians are directly responsible for the operation of the Model Shop and their duties; assist the shop managers and faculty in maintenance and operation of the shop including inventory, resale, and other duties as required.
Qualifications:Qualifications: 3.0 Or better passing grade in DFN 116 Design Techniques. The work-study student must feel comfortable working in a shop environment. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Competence operating model making machinery and tools.

2. Student Employment Authorization to Hire form.
3. 3.0 or better passing grade in DFN 116 Design Techniques.
4. Able to comprehend Model Shop processes and techniques.
5. Ability to work effectively with a diverse student and faculty population.
