Position: Gallery Co-Manager
Department: U245 GallerySummary:
The U245 Gallery is a student-run gallery space dedicated to exhibiting student artwork from across the college curriculum. This gallery offers students from all academic departments a venue in which to propose curated exhibitions of their work along with the works of other CCS students. CCS’s Speakers & Exhibitions Program is hiring one student co-manager of the U245 Gallery for the Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 semesters. The co-managers will work as a team to solicit exhibition proposals from fellow students, and plan and produce a minimum of two exhibitions per semester. The CCS Gallery Coordinator Lucy Cahill will supervise the co-managers, meeting with them an average of twice per month. She will help guide their process as collaborators. This position pays $14.15/hour.
Duties and Responsibilities:– Release calls for proposals to and solicit exhibition proposals from the student community
– Work as a team to curate a minimum of two exhibitions
– Keep record of artworks on display, including values, artist names, spec’s, dimensions, and condition reports
– Install artwork under supervision of Gallery Coordinator
– Plan and produce opening reception events
– Deinstall artwork, patch and paint gallery walls
– Market exhibitions on U245 Instagram
– Create and post flyers for exhibitions on campus
– Occasional gallery attending
– Educating and interacting with gallery visitors
– Produce exhibition opening receptions
– An interest in curation and gallery management
– A self-starter
