Position: Peer Tutors

Department: Center for Tutoring and Writing

Summary:

Undergraduate Juniors and Seniors assist current CCS students with coursework, academic & creative skills, as well as navigating college life.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Tutoring students in software, traditional media, and liberal arts
Assisting students in understanding assignments
Demonstrating techniques and processes
Helping students with factors that affect academic performance such as productivity, study skills, and focus
Creating promotional materials
Participation in CTW promotions, events, and workshops
Assisting with additional duties as needed

Qualifications:

Upper-level undergrad student with a minimum 3.0 GPA (current sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply now for F24)
Responsible, reliable and punctual
Excellent interpersonal skills including patience and the ability to listen, demonstrate, and guide
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Minimum two years of enrollment completed at CCS by Fall 2024

Requirements:

Must be registered for at least 6 credits at CCS
Must be a current sophomore or junior (entering Fall 2024 as a junior or senior)
Must be available to attend training at the end of August (part zoom, part in-person)
Highly encouraged to assist with New Student Orientation and Welcome Week activities at the end of August
