,GLASS SCULPTURE,,
,In this class students investigate the potential,of glass as a sculptural material. Students,engage in explorations that include both,experimental and traditional techniques in,hotworking, kinlcasting, and coldworking. ,In-class demonstrations include: hot-casting,glass, experimental hot-working, cutting and,gluing, coldworking, and uncommon surface,treatments, like mirrorizing. The majority of,class time is spent working in the studio.,Additionally, students are asked to give informal,research presentations, and slide lectures,covering the use of glass in contemporary art. ,For students considering a major or minor in,glass, this class is an excellent introduction to,the range of creative possibilities in glass.
