DSS-351 MEDIA STUDIES

This class is an introduction to media studies,,which examines media technologies, institutions,,culture, and audiences. It uses an,interdisciplinary approach to analyze the content,and impact of diverse media forms and their role,in generating cultural meaning and group and,individual identity. Students learn to evaluate,media content, technologies, and the historical,,cultural, and economic contexts of media,production and explore ways that audiences,consume, interpret, and interact with media,communications.
