Welcome to the Space Reservation Masterclass! In just a few easy steps, you’ll secure that coveted space for your next event—whether it’s a meeting, a secret society gathering, or an impromptu karaoke showdown!
Step 1: Open Google Calendar
First things first, locate that mysterious app called Google Calendar. It might be hiding on your phone or staring you in the face on your desktop. Either way, summon it with a tap or click.
Step 2: Choose the Date
Consult your crystal ball (or just your mind) and find the perfect day for your reservation. In Google Calendar, scroll through the mystical grid of days and click on your desired date.
Step 3: Summon the Event Creator
Hover your mouse or finger over the exact time you want to claim. Click that sacred blank space, and lo and behold, a magical Event Creation Box appears!
Step 4: Name Your Event
Think carefully—this is where you get to name your event. Something cool like “Boardroom Takeover” or “Creative Brainstorm Extravaganza.” Or, if you’re feeling classic, just call it “Meeting.”
Step 5: Location, Location, Location
Click the Add Location field, and enter the sacred location you wish to book. It could be Room 101, Main Conference Hall, or even Peacock Lounge (because why not?).
Step 6: Invite Your Companions
Unless you plan to rule the space alone, click the Add Guests section and invite your fellow warriors—I mean, attendees. Type in their emails and let them know their attendance is mandatory.
Step 7: Adjust the Settings (Optional, but Cool)
Do you want to book the space for forever? Scroll through the Repeat options, and decide whether this event will occur once or on a never-ending loop (careful now!). You can also toggle notifications to make sure everyone shows up on time—no excuses!
Step 8: Click Save—The Final Move
At this point, you’re practically a calendar wizard. Click the all-powerful Save button, and voila! Your event is locked in. The space is yours, and your attendees will receive magical notifications of your prowess.
Bonus Step: Avoid the “Double-Book Curse”
If someone else has already claimed the space—gasp!—you’ll see a message warning of the Double-Book Curse. No worries, just select another time slot or negotiate with the space overlord (aka your admin).
