Canvas Community Website

The Canvas Community website is a place where people from all over the world come to:

• *ask questions about Canvas.
• *submit new ideas and suggestions that might be incorporated into Canvas.
• review official written documentation and video tutorials.
• *participate in focus/interest groups.
• check out the Product Roadmap.
• read blog posts directly from Instructure staff.

Asking Questions about Canvas

Post a question in the Canvas Community. Your answer may be answered by other Canvas Community members from around the world. For example, if you had a Canvas question after normal CCS business hours that needed a response, you could post your question to the Canvas Community in hopes that someone would see it and provide a response.

If you would like to post a question to the global Canvas Community:

1. In Global Navigation, click the Help link.
2. In the fly-out menu that appears, click the Ask the Community link.
3. At the top right corner of the screen, ensure that you are signed in.

4. Once you are signed in to the Canvas Community, click on the Ask a Question button near the top of the page. Alternatively, click on the Ask the Community button at the top right corner of any page within the Community website.

Submitting Ideas and Suggestions

Do you have a new idea or suggestion that might help to enhance or improve Canvas? The Canvas Community website has a dedicated area where you can submit your ideas. Or, there might be a chance that someone has already submitted a similar idea or suggestion. (If this is the case, then there is no need to submit the idea again…so as to avoid duplication of ideas.) If you have more than one idea or suggestion to submit to the Community, be sure to submit them separately instead of all in the same submission.

Canvas Written Documentation and Video Tutorials

To access the Canvas written documentation and video tutorials:

1. In Global Navigation, click the Help link.
2. In the fly-out menu that appears, click the Search the Canvas Guides link.
3. Select the Canvas product you’d like to learn more about. (Example: CANVAS LMS, CANVAS STUDIO, CANVAS COMMONS, etc.)

Focus/Interest Groups

To access specific focus/interest groups in the Canvas Community:

1. Click on the Groups link at the top of any Community page.
2. Under the Interest Groups heading, select a group you’d like to learn more about.

Product Roadmap

The Canvas Product Roadmap provides an interactive visual of what products Instructure is working on and plans to work on in the future. To access the Product Roadmap in the Canvas Community:

1. Click on the Explore link at the top of any Community page.
2. Click on the Product Roadmaps link.

• Alternatively, you can visit the Instructure Roadmap page in the Canvas Community.

Product Blogs

Instructure staff will occasionally post product blogs to keep their customers up-to-date on current Canvas functionality or what is coming in the future. To access these product blogs:

1. Click on the Explore link at the top of any Community page.
2. Click on The Product Blog link.
