Gap Year Students
Students who have graduated from high school are eligible to take up to two college courses as a non-matriculating student at the dual enrollment rate of $900. Withdrawal and refunds for gap year students will be issued with the same deadlines used for undergraduate students.

Precollege Summer Experience (PCSE)
The Precollege Summer Experience (PCSE) program requires a Deposit at the time of registration. This Deposit is non-refundable after the date stated in the PCSE Handbook which is shared at the time of registration.
Students needing to withdraw from the Precollege Summer Experience must call or email the Precollege and Continuing Studies Office at 313.664.7456 or pcs@ccsdetroit.edu to formally withdraw from the course. Students will receive a full refund minus $300 deposit if they withdraw before the second day of class. After the second day of class begins, there will be no refund.

Non-credit courses

No tuition refund is granted after the start of the second class session. (Note: Students who withdraw from a PCS course scheduled for shorter than 13 contact hours will not be granted a refund after the course has started.) Not attending a class does not constitute an official withdrawal from the course. No refunds will be granted after the terms of the refund policy. To officially withdraw call 313.664.7456.

Students who withdraw from a Youth or Teen class at least six days in advance of the first class will be granted a 100% refund. Students who withdraw 5 or less days before the first class will receive a refund minus a $50 cancellation fee. No refund is granted after the start of the second class session. Not attending a class does not constitute an official withdrawal from the course. No refunds will be granted after the terms of the Refund Policy.

Reason for Policy

Previously we did not charge a $50 cancellation fee for Youth and Teen camps. Many students were canceling after the prep work was done for the course. This caused our staff to have to redo all of the class rosters, art supplies, ID lanyards etc.

We also want to clarify the refund policy for students taking gap year courses at the dual enrollment non-matriculating price.
