Supervisor Evaluation – Vince Carducci

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Score Comment
Quality of WorkLEADING (5)

With Valerie Jenkins hired as Chair of the Department 2018 this was a transition year for the department. My experience, expertise and efforts assisted in the transition and had a positive impact on the department and students and was hopefully helpful to Valerie.

DependabilitySTRENGTH (4)

Willing to and often stayed after normal office hours to discuss items with Valerie or students. Consistently followed up with students or faculty who needed assistance.

Job KnowledgeSTRENGTH (4)

I clearly understand my responsibilities as DA. This year I benefited learning alternative curriculum ideas and procedures from Valerie. The combination of Valerie’s wealth of experience and my knowledge of CCS has been a great asset to the department.

Interactive/Effective CommunicationSTRENGTH (4)

I am a good communicator and like to hear input from others. I have enjoyed this past year, I feel that I am able to collaborate with Valerie, give input, but also receive feedback from her that is beneficial for me to clearly understand the goals she has for the department.

Emotional IntelligenceSTRENGTH (4)

I make every effort to both sides of a disagreement. I normally consider my response so it is the best decision for the department or students. If there is a conflict or disagreement, I reflect on my reactions, if I believe I handles a conflict inappropriately, I make every effort to make amends.

Management AbilityLEADING (5)

I don’t manage any staff

TeamworkSTRENGTH (4)

I consider myself an active team member. It has been a pleasure to work with Valerie and a member of her team. I work considerable close with Steve Kuypers, I feel we have a positive effect working relationship. I feel one of my strengths is working with the adjuncts in helping them acclimate.

AgilitySTRENGTH (4)

My day to day does has a number of changing events that occur, from the needs of the faculty, adjuncts, other staff and students, this requires me to often quickly change directions to help or address those situations, requiring me to prioritize them accordingly.

Goals

    1. Create Data base of Alumni
    1. Posting more events to social media

Accomplishments

    1. Created a spread sheet in excel mapping out each students progress at CCS with regard to the Fine Arts Department curriculum.
    1. A member of the DEI advisory group. Participated in training for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Being part of the group has provided me insight and education on an important initiative at CCS
    1. Helped with the sculpture area renovations. This project was ongoing from the year before, I was tasked by the adminstration and the department to keep track of the progress
