Supervisor Evaluation – Vince Carducci

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Quality of WorkSTRENGTH (4)

This past year I have been acclimating to teaching at the College and a lecture course (art history). This has been a challenging but gratifying experience. I have earnestly tried to implement suggestions given to me by the Chair and listed on the student evaluation forms.

DependabilitySTRENGTH (4)

I have been consistent and conscientious with my responsibilities as an adjunct.

Job KnowledgeDEMONSTRATING (3)

I am actively engaged in the practice of photography and its history. With that said, this past semester I have also been fine-tuning the class time with more interactive exercises and experiences to engage my students.

Interactive/Effective CommunicationDEMONSTRATING (3)

I welcome suggestions and invite feedback.

Emotional IntelligenceSTRENGTH (4)

I try to encourage discussion by bringing up multiple viewpoints. Through raising questions, I believe it situates the class to delve deeper into the course content and to parse apart the “how” and/or “why”.

Management AbilityDEMONSTRATING (3)

N/A

TeamworkDEMONSTRATING (3)

I am happy to participate and converse, however since my time on campus is one day a week it would be difficult to say that I have a robust chance to collaborate.

AgilitySTRENGTH (4)

This is one of the unique aspects of teaching that I enjoy in my opinion.

Goals

    1. Create study guide recaps for each class to be posted on blackboard, so that the students can review or refer to them.
    1. Continue to develop engagement strategies for the course.
    1. Write and apply to deliver a short paper for the “Ways of Seeing”: Women and Photography in Scotland. Though realistically my paper may not be chosen, I believe going through the process is important

Accomplishments

    1. I prepared the course lecture materials for the class, which required an extensive amount of time culling together historic and contemporary materials.
    1. The class group work that was implemented in the winter semester, was surprising successful and brought an even greater sense of community discussion with everyone in the class.
    1. Over the past academic year, I have filled out my personal photo book library to provide additional resources for students and my own personal research.

Comments

I welcome continued feedback and mentorship. Also, I appreciate the opportunities and am grateful for the resources and support that CCS provides (ranging from exhibition participation, extended library/image resources to parking).
