Supervisor Evaluation – Sue Day

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Score Comment
Quality of Work STRENGTH (4)

I do my best to be professional, thorough, and forward-thinking in completing all of the tasks of my position, working with my manager and others to get jobs done or to forward tasks to more capable members of the CCS staff.

Dependability LEADING (5)

I consider myself reliable and trustworthy in all facets of my position, especially in being a responsible steward in installing CCS-purchased hardware and software.

Job Knowledge LEADING (5)

My day-to-day tech support tasks have kept me abreast of many new changes to computer and operating system updates.
Meanwhile, I am adept in diagnosing many computer issues, and I otherwise know how to research or who to consult on issues that I’m not knowledgeable about.

Interactive/Effective Communication LEADING (5)

I try to be as communicative and timely as possible when carrying out tasks or implementing changes that involve others within our department or those of other departments.

Emotional Intelligence LEADING (5)

I try to be calm, collected, and professional when communicating and working with members of the CCS community.

Management Ability STRENGTH (4)

If I am ever tasked to take the lead on a project (which may relate to moving computers, installing software, etc.), I do my best to communicate a vision for the people I am working with so that we may complete our task efficiently.

Teamwork STRENGTH (4)

I have cultivated decent, professional, and productive relationships with members of my own department and those of the CCS community, and do my best to address problematic issues carefully.

Agility STRENGTH (4)

When our workdays get exceedingly hectic, such as during preparations for the student exhibition or the fall semester, I try to keep my head about me and respond to sudden changes to our workload with patience and understanding.

Goals

    1. To continue to help manage the Apple computers through our new software provisioning and remote management systems.
    1. To help develop easier methods for managing said computers, such as through scripting.
    1. To continue to manage and troubleshoot the PC computer labs to a larger degree.
    1. To continue to take the initiative in checking and updating the Help Desk to troubleshoot issues and document solutions.

Accomplishments

    1. My most recent and major accomplishment is working with my manager to produce a software-provisioning and remote management solution to completely replace mac imaging.
    1. Researched various minor but effective scripts/commands/methods that helped to set up computers more efficiently.
    1. My continued detailed documentation of computer issues and their solutions through the Help Desk system.
    1. Continuing to develop the occasional “how-to” documentation, such as detailing how to submit renderfarm jobs, printing to the Xerox printers, etc.

Comments

I am satisfied with my current development, and am interested in continuing to educate myself regarding programming and scripting, which will help in our management systems for both the mac and PC labs.
