Supervisor Evaluation – Paul Snyder

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Goals

    1. Reduce the cost for professional sculptors. This is a multi-faceted problem. I propose limiting the daily access to the studio for the Professional modelers. Only evenings, 4pm – 11pm and no daytim
    1. Manage switch to new clay. The clay we use now is going out of production. I have begun the process for selecting an alternative through Tool’s Intenational
    1. Replace Sophomore modeling tables. The sophomore modeling tables need to be upgraded. They are looking raggedy and the wheels need replacing.
    1. Refine clay recycling process. The clay recycling I began two years ago is working well. The bulldog needs to be repaired to enable the process to run more efficiently.

Accomplishments

    1. Re-establish order to the model storage facility after build out of the third floor. We lost considerable storage space and will have to be very diligent with future storage.
    1. Support for the student model development for approximately one hundred models for previous school year.
    1. Sophomore Exterior model development. This is usually the students first exposure to clay and I try to develop good habits with them.
    1. Procuring and maintaining tools for model development and finishing. Including G 10 plastic and spring steel ‘kidneys’ for surfacing. Manage and maintain shared tools, model carts, etc.
