It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

I take pride in the quality of all my work. I often work alone on weekend and evening shifts. I am confident in my abilities to catalogue and acquire new materials and books for the library. I enjoy aiding students and faculty with their research and information needs.

I’ve worked here for past 19 years and I have always been dependable and conscientious. I arrive on time and I accomplish what I set out to do. I often conduct bibliographic information sessions for classes and individuals when the other librarians are unavailable.

My educational background allows me to bring an unique perspective to library work. My graduate degrees in Art, Art History, and in French and Italian are useful for reference work, acquisition and cataloguing of foreign language materials and they allow me to better serve the students and faculty.

Teamwork, namely sharing common goals and ideals with fellow workers, as well as getting along well with students and instructors is very important to me. Working with the others in the library and the school to improve the library and the services it provides is important for me. There are various instructors who I trust to contribute suggestions for acquisitions, and I also listen to student requests. Cataloguing and reference work implies teamwork.

I started off working for the audio-visual dept., became the library evening supervisor and then went on to become a full-time librarian. Since then I have also completed a 5th masters degree in Italian and have started a PhD in French. I am a quick and agile learner who can pursue

Goals

    1. One of my long-term goals is to complete a PhD program in French, with a minor in Italian.
    1. To continue to work on collection development and to expand the library’s holdings with current up-to-date and cutting edge material.
    1. Attend a library conference- ( The last conference attended was in 2014)- to keep up with the latest developments in libraries.
    1. Personal goals- working on paintings and sculptures for an exhibition.

Accomplishments

    1. Continued to be the primary librarian helping various professors conducting research for publication and I conducted a number of bibliographic information sessions.
    1. Continued to contribute to collection development- allowing the collection to grow and at the same time, supporting the undergraduate and graduate programs.
    1. I completed a Masters in Italian in May 2018, was subsequently accepted in the PhD program in French in January, and have completed 2 courses
    1. Catalogued many books, some of which entailed creating original cataloguing records. I also repaired many damaged books thus extending the life of the library materials.
