Supervisor Evaluation – Megan Mesack

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Quality of WorkSTRENGTH (4)

I think my work is strong, but as I become more and more comfortable with the brand, I think I can start to explore more and create work the college can be proud of. I also think more opportunities to better our UI/UX and web presence will come with the new website

DependabilityLEADING (5)

I think I’ve been dependable since starting here at CCS. I’m always up to try and help where I can when I can, and want my coworkers to know they can depend on me when they need something—quickly or not.

Job KnowledgeLEADING (5)

I think I’ve been able to grasp onto what I’m responsible for as the Digital Designer. There have been small things that were new, but I’ve been able to learn and explore more to accomplish those tasks.

Interactive/Effective CommunicationLEADING (5)

I think I’ve been good about working on a daily basis with my team, bouncing ideas off each other, making suggestions and just keeping things open and collaborative with everything I work on.

Emotional IntelligenceLEADING (5)

I don’t believe I’ve reacted in a negative way towards anything or anyone here that poorly effected anyone. I try to keep an open mind and always be supportive of ideas. We keep things social on the 3rd floor!

Management AbilityDEMONSTRATING (3)

I’m not in a management position, but I try to show Katie, for example, how I go about thinking of things we put into the digital space and how they translate from the print world/what we can do/can’t do, etc.

TeamworkLEADING (5)

I think I’ve been good! I am constantly working and talking with Katie on anything I’m working on and she is always doing the same. Even if it’s just an opinion, I think we do a good job of keep eachother in the loop and taking eachothers opinions and ideas into consideration.

AgilityLEADING (5)

I think I’m pretty good about getting tasks done and on time. I try to do things quick and accurately so we always have time to review things. I think it helps a lot of people know if what they visualized actually works or if things need tweaking.

Goals

    1. Continue to build on and improve the new CCS website and UI/UX. A new site is a great start, but I want to keep building on it to make it better with time.
    1. Integrate more with Katie and print. While I’m not a print designer, it would be fun to get a little involved in print, and get Katie into digital so we can better understand how things translate
    1. I’d like to explore motion more. I’m not an animator, but I’ve enjoyed learning more when working with Amber for social graphics.

Accomplishments

    1. Redesigning the CCS Website is probably my big one. I think it’s an improvement in accessibility, UI/UX and I’m excited to build on that over time.
    1. Bringing accessibility and new best practices for what we do on the web into daily practice—on our current site, with emails, our app, etc.

Comments

Honestly, nothing. You’ve always been very open when it comes to letting me be creative and work through problems, and whenever I need an opinion or help you’ve always been there with quick, constructive helpful criticisms and help when they’re needed.
