Supervisor Evaluation – Laurie Evans

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Quality of WorkLEADING (5)

I am a self-motivated person always looking for new ideas and solutions to increase productivity and streamlining processes.

DependabilitySTRENGTH (4)

I feel I can improve in the area of reliability. Well I more often than not am very reliable, this past year I have missed a few tasks due to concentrating deeply on other tasks.

Job KnowledgeLEADING (5)

This year was challenging as I was faced with developing a VRED render farm and developing a new plan for getting the software on Apple products since imaging was no longer an option. I was successful in both areas. I researched and provided a report on VR use in education and safety requirements.

Interactive/Effective CommunicationSTRENGTH (4)

I work very well with David and Joshua. I would like to improve in communicating directives to them so they always fulling understand the tasks I expect of them.

Emotional IntelligenceSTRENGTH (4)

I do, at times, overreact to frustrating situations that I have no control over. I would like to see myself improve on just letting these go. While I have improved in this area, I do need to do more. Especially for my own benefit as my frustration effects me more than others.

Management AbilityLEADING (5)

I feel I am a good manager who clearly develops visions and shares them with our team. I encourage them to learn and work on self motivation and self development. I am not shy about praising their accomplishments.

TeamworkLEADING (5)

I am very good at encouraging and complimenting team members. I encourage them to work together and independently. I also encourage them to talk with me about any issues they may have in regards to myself or our work environment. I support and welcome their views and ideas.

AgilityLEADING (5)

This year, we were faced with no longer being able to image Macs. I successfully partnered with Joshua to develop a new way to get software on Apple computers. I also was faced with the need to come up with a plan to provide rendering for VRED and successfully completed the task.

Goals

    1. To research Jamf and learn if it will provide us with a more streamlined process for managing Macs then our current process.
    1. To contunie learning the rendering farm processes to introduce additional software to the farm.
    1. I liked to develope a more streammlined process for getting the Business Office the information they now request, such as CCS Tag information in advance and yearly software licenses dates.
    1. To contuning working on VR solutions that benefit the college community as a whole.

Accomplishments

    1. Successfully developing and implimenting a solution to manging Mac’s to replace the lack of being able to image them.
    1. Researched and provided a report on ‘Best Practices’ for VR usage and safety in Education.
    1. Developed and implemented VRED rendering and documentation on using the renderfarm.

Comments

As my supervisor I would like you to continue supporting my ideas and views as you have with VR and the render farm. I would continued support with the need for a VR/Render Specialist job position as I feel this position is greatly needed. I would like to go to the Jamf conference this year.
