Supervisor Evaluation – Laurie Evans

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Goals

    1. Continue to develop the IC Risograph program for 40 students in 2019/2020. Supporting Rachel and Riso Club to host a print show in the U245 gallery in March 2020.
    1. Research print submission software (similar to FedEx) so that students can submit online. Prepare a proposal for the 2020/21 budget with a launch in Fall 2020 for laser printing (possible for inkjet)
    1. Increase Imaging Center profits for the 2019/2020 school year by offering new papers, 10-15 minute consulting sessions for students, and becoming more involved at student department meetings.
    1. Measure success in other ways besides $ profits for the 2019/2020 school year. Plan to survey students from departments and to count how many students come in each day versus how much they spend.

Accomplishments

    1. Continue to develop the IC Risograph program for 40 students in 2019/2020. Supporting Rachel and Riso Club to host a print show in the U245 gallery in March 2020.
    1. Increased Instagram followers to 470 (current) from 326 (2018); Attended Color ’19 Conference in San Diego in Jan. 2019 which had several presentations dealing with prepress and print production.
    1. The IC also changed it’s drop-off times at the start of W’19 semester. Students are able to drop off files up until 1 hr prior to closing. This was hugely successful for our own turnaround times.
    1. IC profits = $140,993.53 for the year down from 2018/2019 school year; however much can be attributed to sponsored studios printing/mounting offsite. A successful year nonetheless.

Comments

Continue to meet regularly – maybe outside of the IC (even in the meeting/conference room) to avoid distraction? Continue to help coordinate with departments on sponsored projects and special projects. Continue to mentor me on managing and motivating Rachel, including professional development.
