Supervisor Evaluation – Katherine Campbell

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Quality of WorkDEMONSTRATING (3)

I am able to work and complete tasks without a lot of supervision, due to my self-motivation, professionalism, and work ethic. I do feel I can improve my attitude because I sometimes feel overwhelmed by aspects of CCS culture.

DependabilitySTRENGTH (4)

I have not missed any deadlines, and if I make a mistake, I am quick to address the issue as soon as I possibly can.

Job KnowledgeLEARNING (2)

Since I have been here for less than a year, I am still learning. I am consistently working towards proficiency. I have not been able to learn everything of the job yet because there are new tasks for each part of the academic year.

Interactive/Effective CommunicationDEMONSTRATING (3)

I try my best to communicate everything I am doing, as well as to ask questions when I am uncertain. I rated myself “Demonstrating,” because I am still new in this position and am sometimes unsure of which information is relevant/important to share.

Emotional IntelligenceSTRENGTH (4)

I believe I have demonstrated emotional intelligence through my professionalism in cultivating relationships between colleagues. I am aware of how my communication may impact someone’s opinion of the ISSO, and I am constantly navigating how best to express myself in specific situations and contexts.

Management AbilityEMERGENT (1)

I am not a manager, nor do I have managerial responsibilities. However, I am learning effective management skills through observations.

TeamworkSTRENGTH (4)

I am very transparent with how I am feeling about a specific situation, and I am not scared to discuss my feelings in a constructive way.

AgilitySTRENGTH (4)

When things change, I feel I am great at switching gears and applying myself to the new vision. I am also happy to change what I am doing, as long as guidance is provided.

Goals

    1. By the end of the first semester, my goal is to meet with each new student at least once.
    1. Prior to December and May graduation, my goal is to ensure each student planning on graduating meets his/her/their degree requirements.
    1. At the conclusion of teaching the FYE course, my goal is to have cultivated self efficacy among students so they are able to register for classes themselves and access appropriate resources.
    1. By the end of the Winter 2020 semester, my goal is to have created program sheets and travel guides for all of our study abroad programs.

Accomplishments

    1. I audited academic evaluations frequently and created personalized, collaborative degree plans for numerous students. This also fostered a positive relationships between me and the students.
    1. I successfully advised students on academic, cultural, and health matters. Specifically, I proved capable of handling more sensitive cases surrounding mental health.
    1. As someone who is relatively new, I was quick to learn the different curriculum requirements and software (Datatel, Self Service) necessary to do my job.
    1. I am proud I was able to propose counseling services for CCS students abroad and help the Wellness Center with the implementation.

Comments

Professional development is always helpful in building a foundation of skills. To reach my goals, though, it would be helpful if we referred students to one another after our meetings. This would help me to meet with all of my students if after they spoke to you, they came directly to my office.
