Supervisor Evaluation – Julie Hingelberg

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Score Comment
Quality of WorkLEADING (5)

I believe this is my strongest area in my position at CCS.

DependabilityLEADING (5)

Perhaps I work too much, but I am always dependable.

Job KnowledgeLEADING (5)

I prepare myself for the position well by attending conferences, reading and researching.

Interactive/Effective CommunicationLEARNING (2)

I think that I will grow the most in this area in the coming years as I start to recognize what is important, and what is not in this role, and how it fits into the larger picture of CCS.

Emotional IntelligenceLEARNING (2)

I do have a tendency to make emotional assumptions. And I am aware of this, and I am actively working on adjusting this behavior.

Management AbilityLEARNING (2)

I feel that I lack the time needed ( this year) to develop adequate materials to share my vision with my ISSO staff and CCS faculty remembers. I doubt myself too much, and need to speak up for my vision in meetings.

TeamworkDEMONSTRATING (3)

I learn new tactics for this everyday, but I feel that I am quite direct about pursuing difficult conversations for the betterment of CCS and our students. I think I have room to grow on building trusting partnerships because I can focus too heavily on solving the problem alone and not with a team.

AgilitySTRENGTH (4)

Though the Zimbabwe trip was a curve ball for me this year, I feel that I bounced back stronger, and more equip to deal with these types of difficult situations, while remaining committed to seeing internationalization on campus.

Comments

I need strategic guidance on how the college would like to approach internationalization. And what the main priority of my office is so that I can arrange my work load to prioritize the goals of CCS.
