Supervisor Evaluation – Julie Hingelberg

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Quality of WorkLEADING (5)

I have been fortunate in my career at CCS to have a supervisor who trusts that the work that I do is important, and done well. A significant part of my work requires relationship building – with staff, educators, students and families, and a positive and professional attitude is a big part of that.

DependabilityLEADING (5)

I can always be counted on to see a project through to the end, and work as long as it takes to make sure it’s done well. Overseeing the Scholastic Art Awards program is a testament to my abilities and commitment.

Job KnowledgeLEADING (5)

I’m always willing to learn and adapt to new ways of doing things if necessary. The recruitment world is constantly shifting, requiring attention to new ways of doing things in the office and out on the road. My supervisory role has also changed significantly over the last 5 years

Interactive/Effective CommunicationSTRENGTH (4)

Effective communication is something I am constantly aware of, and know that I can always improve in this area.

Emotional IntelligenceLEADING (5)

I feel this is one of my strengths. I also believe EI works the other way around, and I can also provide a compassionate and understanding perspective with others.

Management AbilityLEADING (5)

I am really proud of the team that I work with, and strive to provide recognition, reassurance and clear instructions for them to do their jobs well. We meet every week, in groups or individually, and I send out a weekly Notes & Reminders email with priorities for the week.

TeamworkLEADING (5)

My staff knows I have an open-door policy and can discuss anything with me. I encourage them to participate in professional development opportunities, and find ways for them to collaborate. Senior counselors have mentored newer staff members. They get special recognition at Xmas and midyear retreat.

AgilityLEADING (5)

I can adapt quickly to changes in procedure or policy, without losing my sense of priorities.

After 20 1/2 years in Admissions, I feel I have already built a solid foundation of skills, ability and knowledge. Continue to communicate expectations and provide support so that our entire team can achieve the shared goals of increasing quality enrollment and exceptional customer service.
