Supervisor Evaluation – Julie Hingelberg

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Quality of WorkSTRENGTH (4)

I am able to complete my responsibilities with minimal direction and successfully. I strive to be seen as reliable, professional, and a committed team member.

DependabilitySTRENGTH (4)

It is very rare that I cannot follow through on what I am asked to do or know needs to be done. I am there for my staff and those that I work with.

Job KnowledgeLEADING (5)

I regularly have to tackle new and different responsibilities. One of my personal strengths is my ability to get up to speed on new knowledge areas and synthesize information. I still feel like I have a lot to learn related to strategic planning and assessment but am actively working towards that.

Interactive/Effective CommunicationSTRENGTH (4)

I hope to be open and honest and clear in my communications. I tend to listen more at first and do need to contribute more often in larger format meetings.

Emotional IntelligenceSTRENGTH (4)

I feel I am a strong team member and leader. I can stay in tune with what my staff and other employees need without them having to directly state it.

Management AbilityDEMONSTRATING (3)

I’m a good team leader but I am feeling that I need to grow in vision and strategy. One of my goals will be related to building more strategy and vision for the future into my work.

TeamworkLEADING (5)

I feel my greatest strength is in building my team and being collaborative with them. I try to engage both professionally and personally with all of my staff members to build real relationships.

AgilityDEMONSTRATING (3)

I feel ok here. While I adapt fairly well to change, I think we can all grow here. Change can be hard and cause frustrations, but it is usually for the best.

Goals

    1. Establish the Co-curricular assessment plan and have at least one measured point of assessment for each office participating in the assessment plan.
    1. Successfully transition our two new staff members into the CCS community and their responsibilities.
    1. Learn something about fundraising.
    1. Reduce the dining subsidy to below $400,000.

Accomplishments

    1. Brought on a new food service company. While this is a work in progress, this was a huge step towards better service.
    1. Presented our HMS results at the AICAD conference.
    1. Helped to pave the way for the new DEI Director position and support that advisory group in their efforts on campus by creating the Diversity Strategic Plan.
    1. Participated in the presidential search process.

Comments

I’d like to learn something new this year. I still have an interest in learning/supporting the ISSO office and/or Career Services as well as learning more about fundraising and Board activities. Insight on where I can learn more and offer more to CCS would be greatly appreciate.
