It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards. As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise. Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

---|---|---|
Quality of Work | STRENGTH (4) | Professional without being rigid. Strong work ethic, but not a martyr. I’m motivated to find out what the user actually wants rather than just doing what they asked. (Although, sometimes that’s tempting.) I’m as positive as possible during these soul-sucking times. Confident enough to say all this. |
Dependability | LEADING (5) | I don’t have the memory skills to be a good liar. It’s easier to be reliably honest and trustworthy. |
Job Knowledge | DEMONSTRATING (3) | |
Interactive/Effective Communication | STRENGTH (4) | I attempt to be as transparent as possible. |
Emotional Intelligence | DEMONSTRATING (3) | I may overreact or make emotional assumptions when I think something is unfair, but I am not unreasonable and will back down when reason and logic are presented. I tend to be loud and animated during these situations, which can put people off but is part of who I am and I’m ok with it. |
Management Ability | EMERGENT (1) | I could be a manager if I had to be, but I’ve deliberately avoided it for over 30 years. The reasons for that are likely to be understood by any manager reading this. |
Teamwork | DEMONSTRATING (3) | You had me until the “encourage and compliment” part. Not sure I can point to any examples of this. |
Agility | LEARNING (2) | Ability, yes. Demonstration of that ability, not always. |

Accomplishments
