Supervisor Evaluation – Glen Morren

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Quality of WorkSTRENGTH (4)

I think I do a good job when doing the task at hand but sometimes I run out of time or have to ring up customers and I don’t finish the task I was doing originally. I want to be better at following through completely on projects and tasks.

DependabilityLEADING (5)

I believe I am trustworthy and reliable. I am able to open and close both stores and show up ready to work and willing to help.

Job KnowledgeLEADING (5)

I understand clearly and completely what is expected of me as an employee. I am willing to change, improve, or learn a new skill when it is asked of me.

Interactive/Effective CommunicationLEADING (5)

I always strive to communicate ideas to my other coworkers and use creative problem solving. Communicating about any tasks I am having trouble with or do not understand fully is something I do not avoid.

Emotional IntelligenceLEADING (5)

I love my coworkers like my friends and always try to be aware of how my actions or words would effect them. When there is conflict I do not escalate the situation and work out our differences to maintain a healthy, resentment-free work place.

Management AbilityLEADING (5)

Not applicable.

TeamworkLEADING (5)

I enjoy working with my coworkers in an open environment where honesty and encouragement, in work and life situations, is evident and welcomed.

AgilityLEADING (5)

I think I’ve adjusted well to the new POS system and the new processes of maintaining inventory and ordering supplies. It has been a big change but I’ve been able to adjust and maintain independence so far.

Goals

    1. Follow through completely on tasks and projects asked of me within the day they were given to me. If I cannot finish, I will communicate clearly where I left off and why I could not finish.
    1. Arriving at work a few minutes earlier than my scheduled time. Sometimes I cut my time too close and walk into work rushed.
    1. Working more efficiently when completing a project. I can over think things or get side tracked which causes me to take longer.
    1. Have more patience with the high school and middle school students when they are in the store. I can become flustered and irritated and I need to remember that they are children.

Accomplishments

    1. I think I have adjusted will to the new POS system and have been able to learn quickly the new processes we have.
    1. I placed my orders with my vendor earlier this year, avoiding the scramble that I had at the beginning of the school year last year.
    1. I work well with my other coworkers and maintain a healthy and supportive work environment.
    1. I think I have maintained a more organized and cleaner work space. Everything is easier and calm when inventory are organized, trash is thrown away, and supplies is where it is suppose to be.

Comments

Communication is key and I think we can all improve on it as a group. Things get confused and more complicated than they need to be and I think clearer and thorough communication would help exponentially. I know it can seem redundant or unnecessary but it makes me feel more confident as an employee.
