Supervisor Evaluation – Elizabeth Klos

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Score Comment
Quality of Work STRENGTH (4)

Overall, I think the work I’m doing adds to the institution and I.A. team in a positive manner.

Dependability STRENGTH (4)

I believe that, more often than not, I come through for my team when they need me, whether it’s on a project only I am involved in or something I’m assisting on in another team or department.

Job Knowledge STRENGTH (4)

In the 5 years I’ve been with I.A. I believe I’ve developed a strong grasp of the functions of my role and how it impacts the team. I still take many webinars and training throughout the year and am open to additional skill-building activities to expand my role in I.A.

Interactive/Effective Communication STRENGTH (4)

I believe I’m open to feedback and suggestions surrounding my current work, as well as past and future projects (e.g. alumni exhibition entry fee process and DIWA art auction changes). I enjoy sharing my work and ideas with others but realize I can always do more to confirm we’re on the same page.

Emotional Intelligence STRENGTH (4)

I’ve worked a great deal on becoming more self-reflective and understanding of my role in the shaping of our team’s overall morale. I’d like to work more on being upfront with my concerns in the future in order to help shape my understanding of unique situations and how I can help aide the team.

Management Ability LEADING (5)
Teamwork LEADING (5)

I believe that I have the trust and understanding of my fellow team members. I work hard at making it a point to acknowledge the roles my team members played in shaping the successes of events like Noel Night and the alumni exhibition and believe it’s always better to use “we” instead of “I”.

Agility STRENGTH (4)

Similar to my opinion on teamwork, I’m always ready to help the team overcome any new challenges or needs. I enjoy lending my expertise with our database or other tools to help meet internal event needs or to assist ancillary alumni activities.

Goals

    1. Continue to assume new projects and roles within I.A. by working more in individual giving and expanding supervisory roles on existing/recurring events and projects
    1. Partner with Marketing & Communication and other departments to improve donor and alumni experiences and communications. Further develop CCS Alumni brand and engagement practices with academic depts.
    1. Develop new online alumni directory in conjunction with new CCS website/host
    1. Successfully produce L.A. alumni reception and second alumni lecture in support of the strategic plan.

Accomplishments

    1. Development of alumni engagement map for campus wide use in support of the strategic plan and implementation of engagement dashboard for calculating engagement metrics for the strategic plan dashboard
    1. Launch of new alumni lecture series to provide new engagement opportunities from alumni to fellow alumni and current students. Second lecture slated for Tuesday, October 1, 2019
    1. Successfully produced essential annual giving programming like the fall and spring appeal, fall phonathon and spring thankathon, Giving Tuesday, and continued management of online donation forms forms
    1. Successfully produced key alumni events like Noel Night, alumni exhibition, alumni lecture(s), and studio mixer series

Comments

Continued encouragement and assistance in implementing new programs for alumni relations and individual giving, but also the continued flexibility and support of how I manage my projects. Also, the chance to manage individuals and be involved more in decisions shaping the identity of the I.A. team.
