Supervisor Evaluation – Elizabeth Klos

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

I’m continually working on knowing when to reach out for assistance. There are times that I have not reached out to my Supervisor, when In hind sight that would have contributed to quicker results. Being a one person role there is a tendency to turn inward and handle situations or issues alone.

Emotional Intelligence LEADING (5)

Most of my interactions are with outside vendors. Being able to adjust to changing situations, temperaments, expectations is critical. My interactions with my co-workers have always been supportive and open which allows for honest communication if it’s in disagreement.

Goals

    1. Increase year over years sales; if possible I’d like to get approval to use Conf Center funds for Marketing tools in support of this goal.
    1. I’d like to transition into or do more with the fundraising side of IA if there is an opportunity, but still be a support to the conference Center.
    1. Define the role of the Conf Center; Is it an internal space or a rental space? Is it to be utilized as it’s always been. What objectives is it to meet through Leadership’s perspective?

Accomplishments

    1. Selected the replacement screen / oversaw the upgrade to the Audio Visual System on the 11th floor.
    1. Updated security procedures and protocols, Specified liquor license usage for LLCs through my own research contacting LARA directly leading to a change in the contract from legal.

Comments

Help me work with Leadership to understand the direction of the Conference Center. If the objective is to push outside sales; Can the dept get a Marketing budget? Help me to create a plan if number of events increase; support of the space beyond one person that does not tax the rest of the IA team.
