Supervisor Evaluation – Don Kilpatrick

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Quality of WorkLEADING (5)

All of the work I put in, requires me to take the lead and reach out to multiple different entities within the school. Everyday I work towards maintaining a professional environment while providing a positive attitude, confidence, and strong work ethic.

DependabilityLEADING (5)

I am pulled in multiple different directions within CCS. But I make sure that others can rely on me, especially when it comes to scheduling models or setting up costumes & props.

Job KnowledgeSTRENGTH (4)

I am confident that I understand my responsibilities within my position, although I do believe reaching out and finding workshops, seminars, and/or networking with individuals in similar fields, can really push my knowledge to the next level.

Interactive/Effective CommunicationLEADING (5)

Communication is key within my position. I schedule over 40 models, work with 15+ instructors, and have an open door policy with students during my office hours.

Emotional IntelligenceSTRENGTH (4)

With the amount of individuals I communicate with, I do my very best to not let my emotions take the lead in my interactions, especially when it is within a professional setting.

Management AbilityLEADING (5)

I manage the models here at CCS, and I can confidently say that my management ability is strong. I make sure to follow up with models, send reminders, keep them in the loop of any changes, provide proper documents/literature to help them continuing learning in their positions.

TeamworkLEADING (5)

Even though I work within my position alone, my job requires efficient teamwork. I must coordinate with multiple instructors, and work within their needs. I provide open ears for our models so that they feel as if they are part of a team and can provide ideas and opinions.

AgilityLEADING (5)

It is a requirement in my position to be agile. Models can cancel, and/or instructors can request things last minute. It is my job to react in a timely manner while still continuing my daily tasks.

Goals

    1. Have Prop & Costume Room up on WebCheck Out – This is my ultimate goal since I started my position. I am continuing to work towards this goal.
    1. Reach a higher student awareness towards the Prop & Costume Room.

Accomplishments

    1. Assisted the Photo Department with a Model Budget. Provided estimates and a proposal.
    1. Hired the first Prop & Costume Room workstudy – which provide myself with more time to focus on other tasks.
    1. Created and organized the Live Student Drawing event within the SEO 2019. Guests had an inside look at what it takes for students to create the art they see around them.
    1. Created Model Areas in all the figure rooms in the W. B. Ford building. Models now have access to a variety of supplies and space to allow them to do their jobs more efficiently/comfortability.

Comments

I need your help with pushing issues forward to the right parties, and making sure I have support to help expand the Prop & Costume room, and providing models with a better job experience here at CCS.
