Supervisor Evaluation – Dan Long

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Score Comment
Quality of Work STRENGTH (4)

I produce work efficiently and need little to no direction. I am very professional and self motivated. I believe I have a very positive attitude that students and parents recognize in person and on the phone. I have confidence to answer most any question and handle most any situation.

Dependability STRENGTH (4)

I am very reliable. When you give me work, it will be done and done quickly and correctly.

Job Knowledge STRENGTH (4)

The office and policies, etc. have changed throughout my time here and I have learned and changed with the office. I feel I can answer most all questions and if I can’t, I find out the answers and help students and parents. I provide knowledgeable and friendly customer service.

Interactive/Effective Communication DEMONSTRATING (3)

I enjoy engaging with other people in the office and I make sure to keep them updated on what I’m doing whether it’s with something in housing (student/parent interactions and/or issues) or student life (graduation, orientation, ordering, projects). I stay transparent and honest.

Emotional Intelligence STRENGTH (4)

I keep neutral when a certain someone shares views I don’t agree with (that’s harder than it sounds) and I know how to interact with people without causing drama in the work place. I try to keep it positive! 🙂

Management Ability LEADING (5)

n/a

Teamwork STRENGTH (4)

I feel this office works really well together. I will help anyone with anything they need and they are not above grabbing my phone or helping me do something menial, like count and distribute graduation materials. I have awesome co-workers and I feel/hope they would say the same about me.

Agility STRENGTH (4)

I can roll with whatever changes come along.

Goals

    1. Continue to provide excellent customer service, provide a positive and helpful first contact for students and parents.
    1. I really want to reduce the cost of water consumption through student activies and programs and/or bug people enough to get refillable water stations installed.
    1. Work with Michael to spruce up December graduation and make it less sterile
    1. Bug Michael enough to bug the President about reducing the cost of renting gowns by having faculty purchase their own hoods or gowns or both.

Accomplishments

    1. Kept office running smoothly as changes in personnel and policies occur
    1. Helped pre college with travel arrangements to lighten their load and also helped student engagement manager quite a bit
    1. played an important part in the success of both December and May graduations
    1. played an important part in housing move in and out and kept things in order in Colleague (billing, placement, refunds, etc.) as Ryan works with Room Choice

Comments

As things change with the new President, keep me informed so I’m giving accurate information out to students/parents.
Keep being a logical and consistent supervisor who provides a healthy working environment – we all love that!
