Supervisor Evaluation – Anthony Miceli

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Quality of WorkSTRENGTH (4)

There have been many times where my attention to detail has noticed errors with the way our CRM is functioning or with the flow of processes from application to enrollment. Tasks are accurately and efficiently managed whether in or out of the office.

DependabilitySTRENGTH (4)

When asked to complete a task or share knowledge it is done immediately and often without reminder.

Job KnowledgeDEMONSTRATING (3)

While I feel I understand the role of Admissions Counselor, this year of working with International students and taking on new tasks has required a learning curve. I have attended different training sessions to help build and improve my knowledge.

Interactive/Effective CommunicationLEADING (5)

It is a pleasure to share knowledge with my colleagues even if it may pertain to the larger picture of enrollment, not just domestically. I may have opinions, but they remain neutral in meetings until it is appropriate to share. It’s also a fact that I ask too many questions.

Emotional IntelligenceSTRENGTH (4)

As noted above, I remain a neutral party unless asked for my opinion. I would rather deescalate a situation than provoke with the same behavior. Other’s performance or interaction with me is never taken personally.

Management AbilityLEARNING (2)

This isn’t applicable to my role, but there is no neutral option to select. My rating is based on my lack of experience and knowledge as a manager.

TeamworkDEMONSTRATING (3)

While I do think I’m good at teamwork I do believe I have room to grow with compliments and encouragement. It is not often that I tell a colleague that they are succeeding. I appreciate the open environment our division provides for seeking opinions/help.

AgilitySTRENGTH (4)

Regardless of the task or challenge I will continue to press ahead. This applies to travel situations and setbacks that may occur while traveling(like lost luggage or flat tires while headed to the airport). Remaining calm and thinking of a solution will produce the best outcome.

Goals

    1. Improve and help an international student’s application/enrollment experience be more inclusive and less confusing.
    1. Increase international application to complete application conversion from 39% to 50%.(Includes denies) Increase International deposit conversion from 7% to 10%-12%.
    1. Continue researching and developing a list of schools both inside and out of the US that CCS should be visiting.
    1. Increase a positive image and awareness of Detroit with applicants.

Accomplishments

    1. Attended training on foreign credential evaluation and completed over 120 evaluations for the 2018-2019 recruitment cycle.
    1. Attended training for foreign transfer credit placement. It was not entirely enlightening, but some learned knowledge did help with transfer credit placement for international students.
    1. Helped to evaluate and modify policies surrounding international student admissions.
    1. Spent 9+ weeks out of state for recruitment purposes.

Comments

You have been a fantastic manager and especially encouraging when it comes to professional development. This year would have been a larger challenge if I was unable to attend the conferences/training sessions you suggested. You are already doing a superb job of promoting my confidence and success.
