Supervisor Evaluation – Amy Armand

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Quality of WorkSTRENGTH (4)

I believe that I am an extremely self motivated individual which translates well into this role. I always have professionalism in mind when I speak with/email teachers counselors and students which has resulted in invitations to unique opportunities.

DependabilitySTRENGTH (4)

I am proud of the fact that I did not miss a day of work, nor did I need to cancel any of my scheduled events. I always make it a point to arrive to an event early to ensure that are no last minute surprises and to make sure that I have all of the materials from my car to be successful.

Job KnowledgeDEMONSTRATING (3)

I believe that I walked into this position with a good understanding of my responsibilities and began to carry them out immediately. I always tried to participate in the Zoom meetings as they provided invaluable information regarding changes/updates in the department.

Interactive/Effective CommunicationDEMONSTRATING (3)

Being new to the department, I did more reaching out than sharing this past year. I did not hesitate to reach out to Brandi or Patti if I had questions about procedures, but hope that as I grow in the role that I will have more to share in the future.

Emotional IntelligenceDEMONSTRATING (3)

In my personal and professional life I always seek to be respectful of the people that I am interacting with. I think that I have built strong relationships with members of the admissions team in a short time, and look forward to continuing to build on those in the years to come.

Management AbilityLEARNING (2)

This was definitely a year of listening and learning for me. If there was something that I learned in the field I would share it with the team, and certainly look forward to sharing more in the future.

TeamworkDEMONSTRATING (3)

I hope that I’ve effectively let everyone on the admissions team know how much I appreciate their help as I was climbing the learning curve-I’ve always made it a point to acknowledge their achievements. I think that Brandi and I worked so well together sharing ideas/information about event/students.

AgilitySTRENGTH (4)

This job requires a good amount of agility in order to be successful. I do believe that I handled additions /changes to the schedule quite well. I was able to communicate new CCS information effectively as changes were made throughout the year.

Goals

    1. This year it is my goal to find additional opportunities to promote CCS – perhaps a group meeting with IECA counselors.
    1. I would like to find an opportunity to fly in some Department Chairs to visit local high schools for a day – similar to what Sabrina did at DASH.
    1. I definitely would like to see the applications, enrollments & deposits jump up considerably this year. I am hoping that my first year of laying the foundation of who we are can be built on this year.
    1. I am hoping that my introductions last year will open the doors to more in class art presentations.

Accomplishments

    1. According to the set goals, I believe that I achieved the school and event goals that were given to me – visiting 75 in state and more than 5 out of state schools.
    1. The number of applications from Illinois increased by 25 and the number of admits from Illinois increased by 16. One of the teachers from my area also attended SEO.
    1. I also found a number of new opportunities for CCS – including my invitation to spend the day at Evanston HS career day as a guest speaker, a panelist at OPRFHS, and a panelist at Maine South HS.
    1. I helped facilitate the participation of Vincenzo and Aki at the IHSAE exhibition. Their participation was a huge success-they felt that it was a great opportunity to showcase their departments & CCS

Comments

Amy has been everything I could have asked for in a supervisor in my first year! I find especially helpful our bi-weekly touch base calls, her accessibility and thorough and prompt replies to any of my emails. I do feel that I could use more knowledge in what to look for during portfolio reviews.
