Supervisor Evaluation – Amy Armand

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Quality of WorkSTRENGTH (4)

After 14 years at CCS, I continue to work very hard and take pride in planning and executing Admissions events that provide the best possible experience to prospective students, parents, high school art teachers and counselors, in an effort to show all that CCS as to offer.

DependabilityLEADING (5)

I believe I am extremely reliable, self-motivated and can be trusted to do the best possible job in executing and completing all assigned tasks. It is important to me that my supervisor can depend on me with minimal supervision.

Job KnowledgeDEMONSTRATING (3)

This past year, I have taken on some new responsibilities and additional duties, such as more involvement with Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and organizing the Art Educator Conferences. I welcome the challenge of being given new assignments, while accepting there will be a learning curve.

Interactive/Effective CommunicationDEMONSTRATING (3)

Because events are very visible, they often invite a lot of feedback. Over the years, I have learned to be open to new ideas and have often publicly credited an individual for their contribution and acknowledged it’s role in making an event more successful.

Emotional IntelligenceSTRENGTH (4)

I am very aware of team dynamics and how one’s actions can affect the group. In my role as supervisor, I felt the need to sit down with with a staff member and calmly discuss an issue that was causing some conflict. The matter was discussed in a professional matter that led to a good resolution.

Management AbilityDEMONSTRATING (3)

As this is my first year as a supervisor, I feel I’m still learning and growing in that role. One of my goals this year, is to take advantage of professional development in this area, to benefit both me as a supervisor and the staff members who report to me.

TeamworkLEADING (5)

I feel this is one of the most valuable strengths I bring to my job. Admissions events are a team effort and I strive to work well with all involved, from the Admissions staff to the Facilities team. I provide timely information about the event and post event feedback thanking everyone involved.

AgilitySTRENGTH (4)

Last minute changes are inherent in event planning, no matter how well an event is planned. If something goes awry, it is important not get frazzled and instead focus on how to address and solve the issue, keeping everything rolling as smoothly as possible, with minimal disruption.

Goals

    1. Participate in professional development for improving my skills as an effective supervisor. As I mentioned earlier, I think this would benefit both me and any staff who now report to me.
    1. Continue to learn more about the Scholastic Award process, so I can take on more responsiblity, easing the workload of my supervisor and the Scholastic coordinator.
    1. Research, develop and propose ideas for new recruiting events, especially pertaining to retaining Admitted students.
    1. Work towards a more “paperless” digital filing system with the goal of being more organized, efficent, while eliminating paper clutter.

Accomplishments

    1. With my supervisor, I participated in reviewing resumes, interviewing job candidates, and eventually being involved with the hiring and and training of a new Admissions Events Coordinator.
    1. Helped coordinate two IECA campus visits, hiring Student Ambassadors for campus tours, arranging a tour of Shinola, working with the caterer and Facilities team, to help show CCS in it’s best light.
    1. Helped coordinate a new offsite event for applied students and secured locations for 3 additional applicant events in February, 2020.
    1. Continued to maintain strong relationships with Facilities, Security and other staff involved in events. This was particularily critical in planning and executing the July Open House.
