Supervisor Evaluation – Amy Armand

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Quality of WorkDEMONSTRATING (3)

Stronger in some areas than others – positive attitude and professionalism. Self motivation and prioritizing can be a struggle sometimes, mostly because I have ADD. I think more confidence will come with experience.

DependabilitySTRENGTH (4)

Prioritizing/reliability – sometimes I find myself reflecting on how I could have been more efficient with my time during a given workday, especially this fall. After 1 year of working in Admissions, there’s things I’ll do differently based on time of year to be more on top of things/dependable.

Job KnowledgeDEMONSTRATING (3)

I’m still learning and trying to be less hesitant when I need to ask questions. I don’t know everything yet, but I still find myself second guessing sometimes, like when giving guidance to a family in a counseling appt, although I do my best not to let it show to the student/family.

Interactive/Effective CommunicationLEADING (5)

I think communication and listening are my strengths. Both with directors, coworkers, and students with their families.

Emotional IntelligenceLEADING (5)

Empathy and patience are also strongsuits. Occasionally I have to take a step back and breathe for a sec before I make a decision or address something/someone. Just to make sure I’m responding in the best way possible. That’s usually with students and families, not so much coworkers.

Management AbilityLEARNING (2)

Not in a leadership/director position, but I do need to get better at presenting my ideas at meetings, contributing to pools of suggestions, etc. Without fear of my thoughts being shot down or not being good ideas.

TeamworkSTRENGTH (4)

Happy to work with a team – I’m usually the more quiet one in a team environment, but I enjoy contributing and working together with a team to get a job done.

AgilityDEMONSTRATING (3)

When procedures change in the office, it can take a bit of rethinking or adjusting to acclimate to change and make sure I’m following new protocol or processes correctly. I can be meticulous about it, but just because I make sure I”m doing things the right way.

Goals

    1. Prioritize tasks more clearly by mapping them out daily on the calendar as needed
    1. Be more persistent in following up with art teachers for scheduling high school classroom visits, make calendar reminders
    1. Work on finding a way to be more reliable with answering emails when traveling for work

Accomplishments

    1. A student (deposited!) emailed Carla this fall with a lovely and sincere message about how helpful I was with the application process, and that meant a lot to me, especially being new to recruiting!
    1. The countless times students at Portfolio Days or college fairs have said they’re interested in CCS because of how passionate I am
    1. When students at portfolio day events say I give better/more specific feedback than reps from other colleges.

Comments

Reaffirm when I’m doing something well or especially well. Keep offering the support and listening ear that you always do when I’m struggling or frustrated. Thanks for being patient with me this first year, Amy!
