Supervisor Evaluation – Anne Beck

It is the College’s goal to annually evaluate the performance of each employee. The purpose of the evaluation process is to provide an opportunity for the supervisor and employee to review the prior year’s work performance. This process should include conversations related to the strengths and weaknesses in your employee’s performance, the development of future objectives, and your support and encouragement in assisting them to reach their full potential. The evaluation process helps to promote better communication between you and your employee, allows your employee input, and enables attention to be focused on job performance standards.  As you communicate the performance appraisal, your employee needs to understand performance expectations and your employee should be provided the opportunity to respond and discuss any issues that may arise.  Feedback concerning job satisfaction, career goals, and position responsibility are encouraged during the appraisal and throughout the year.

Score Comment
Quality of Work LEADING (5)

I’m self-motivated, have a positive attitude, and produce results efficiently and effectively with little to no supervision. My work is conducted with a spirit of continuous improvement to ensure quality outcomes that exceed expectations.

Dependability LEADING (5)

I can be depended on to complete tasks and meet deadlines. My role is critically dependent on my ability to be trustworthy and reliable. I assist in developing and managing a budget in excess of $50M as well as maintaining sensitive information on students, faculty, and staff.

Job Knowledge STRENGTH (4)

I feel I understand my job responsibilities and take part in various trainings. I’m a member of several committees to help execute projects across the College. My knowledge of the college and its operations expands beyond business services.

Interactive/Effective Communication DEMONSTRATING (3)

I strive to include others in conversations that relate to matters specific to their area of expertise. Members of my team are challenged to communicate their ideas and share candid feedback as I believe lack of inclusion can lead to absence of innovation and or necessary change.

Emotional Intelligence DEMONSTRATING (3)

I’m self-conscious about how I interact with others and am aware of my choice of words and actions. People want to know they matter and are valued. I try to be an unbiased listener during problem resolution. I encourage dialogue within the team as they work to overcome business challenges.

Management Ability STRENGTH (4)

We’ve gone through three large changes this year with revenue recognition, implementation of Prophix, and updating the point of sale system in the bookstore. Engaging the staff is key to developing a shared vision and having employees that are willing to be a part of the change process.

Teamwork DEMONSTRATING (3)

I encourage my team to be a part of campus committees and represent at meetings without my presence. I want them to feel more invested and engaged in their job. I encourage them to understand other departments and areas of the college so they understand more than just their piece of the puzzle.

Agility STRENGTH (4)

I feel that I have the ability to respond quickly and efficiently to change whether it’s deliberate or in response to an emergency. I’m not resistant to change but rather consider myself a change agent. I encourage my team to embrace change rather than oppose it.

Goals

    1. Prophix – utilize the functionality that has been brought online so far and continue bringing online other functionality for full utilization
    1. Work with bookstore staff to increase their net profit
    1. Begin working on the automation of payment vouchers and purchase orders
    1. Spend more time analyzing financials rather than being re-active to events.

Accomplishments

    1. Built and implemented a large portion of Prophix – automating all financials as well as other reports.
    1. Completely changed the bookstore’s point of sale system to include inventory management. Increasing bookstore efficiency and enhancing the customer experience.
    1. Worked with auditors and attorney on building a 403b reasonable classification test that must be performed yearly.
    1. Worked with auditors regarding a large change in revenue recognition. This was a huge change in how we record revenue across various revenue sources.

Comments

Allowing access to professional expertise to continuously expand my knowledge. Allowing me to be a part of projects that go beyond my department.
