Canvas Studio is an all-in-one video and audio platform fully integrated within the Canvas LMS. It’s a versatile tool that allows both instructors and students to create, upload, and manage their own media content. Instructors can record webcam videos or screen captures, upload existing files, or even pull in videos from YouTube and Vimeo.

Its most powerful features are interactive: instructors can embed in-video quizzes that report directly to the Gradebook, and users can have threaded discussions through time-stamped comments directly on the video’s timeline. Furthermore, Studio provides instructors with powerful Insights (analytics) for each video. They can see which students watched the media, what percentage they completed, how long they watched, and even which parts of the video were re-watched or skipped, turning passive viewing into measurable engagement.
