The Course Import Tool in Canvas is a powerful feature in the course “Settings” that allows instructors to copy and reuse course materials efficiently. Its most common use is to copy content from a previous term’s course into a new, empty course shell. However, instructors can also use it to select specific content—like a single module, a set of quizzes, or just the assignments—from another course they are enrolled in. The tool also supports importing content packages from other Learning Management Systems (like Blackboard or Moodle) and specific file types, such as QTI zip files for question banks.
