- Favoriting Canvas Courses via the All Courses Screen
- Unfavoriting a Course from the Canvas Dashboard
- Additional Resources
Canvas allows you to “favorite” active courses so that they appear on your Dashboard and on your Courses global navigation menu.
- If no courses are “favorited”, then up to 20 of your courses will automatically show on your Canvas Dashboard.
- Example: If you “favorite” five active courses, then only those five courses will appear on your Canvas Dashboard. All other courses will have to be accessed via the Courses >> All Courses screen.
Favoriting Canvas Courses via the All Courses Screen
- In Global Navigation, click the Courses link.
- Select All Courses from the fly-out menu.
- On the All Courses screen, active courses will be displayed near the top of the screen. Past Enrollments appears below them.
- In the left-hand Favorite column, click the star icon next to any active course to mark it as a “favorite”. The course will now be displayed on your Canvas Dashboard.
- Repeat Step #4 for any additional courses you wish to “favorite”.
Unfavoriting a Course from the Canvas Dashboard
If you have “favorited” a course that you no longer want to see on your Canvas Dashboard, you can “unfavorite” that course directly from the Dashboard without having to go to your Courses >> All Courses screen. From the Canvas Dashboard:
- Click on the three-dot kebab icon at the upper right corner of any course card.
- Click the Move tab.
- Select Unfavorite.
