Students interested in Manga will learn how to,take their illustration techniques to the next,step. Using Manga as a starting point, students,will incorporate traditional illustration,techniques to add depth to their drawings.,Students will create finished stylized pieces,using a variety of media from watercolor to ink,on paper.

Students will learn various artistic elements of,visual storytelling that make up the,graphic novel including Moment, Frame, Image,Content,T ext and Framing. Traditional and,digital tools will be presented and used to,create various page layouts to be rendered in,black and white and color.Each day will begin,with a discussion of the essential elements of,graphic novels followed by a,demonstration of traditional and digital,practices needed to create a graphic novel.

This course explores the use of Photoshop software,to produce digital images and gives students the,skills necessary for image scanning, photo,retouching, image enchancing and manipulation and,color correction. Participants must have working,knowledge of Macintosh computers.
