AVIS-390 STAINED GLASS 1

Learn the traditional stained glass method of,copper foiling! Students will be instructed in the,copper foil technique and invited to apply it to,both traditional and non-traditional projects.,This course is open to beginning and intermediate,level students. Beginning students will learn the,fundamental techniques of stained glass.,Intermediate-level students will be encouraged to,expand their copper foiling skills by exploring,the world of three-dimensional objects. Some,course materials are provided however, Continuing,Education students are expected to purchase a,number of materials as listed in the materials,section online. Please wear closed-toe shoes,,safety glasses, and a mask on the first day.

Students will expand their knowledge and,expressive abilities with traditional and,explorative painting approaches. Utilizing both,water and oil based paints, imagination will play,an active role within the structures of still,life, portraiture, gesture, urban landscape, and,abstract painting. A material list will be,handed out during the first class.

Learn the various artistic elements of visual,storytelling that make up the graphic novel,,including movement, frame, image content, text,and framing. Use traditional and digital tools,to create page layouts and render them in black,and white and/or in color.
