Academic Affairs adjusted the approved amount to $625.00 instead of $250.00 (original approval) based on 3/14/24 explanation of fees submitted by Kim (below).

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for getting back to me.
To clarify:
– The terms of the partner scholarship is that Pilchuck will cover half the tuition and CCS will cover the other half. In the past, Academic Affairs has covered the amount.
– The student will not be contributing to the amount requested on the form ($1250) but will be spending around $1000 out of pocket to travel to the class. Which is to say, the student will make a significant financial contribution for this opportunity, but not towards their tuition, the amount requested.

To respond:
– I understand not wanting to use department funds for a single student. If that is the policy, I respect that.
– It is possible to use glass club funds for the total remaining amount. It would be ideal if Academic Affairs or the department could fund a larger portion of the tuition (maybe half, with $625 coming from glass club?). All students contribute to raising funds fo the glass club, so I’m hesitant to blow the entire fund on a single student. There is around $2000 in the glass club account.

Please let me know if Academic Affairs or the department can offer any additional funding beyond the $250 already granted.

Thank you!
