Program Learning Outcomes – Interior Design

Upon graduation, students in the BFA Interior Design program will be able to:

  • Demonstrate sophistication in the communication of ideas which will progressively evolve throughout the four years of study, beginning with sketching and drafting, and continuing with the implementation of multimedia digital design tools.
  • Demonstrate proficiencies in research methodology, ideation, and concept development by identifying, analyzing, and applying information from a variety of stakeholders to productively impact the built environment.
  • Develop and construct custom design elements/products towards a design solution.
  • Engage all aspects of the design process to approach an advanced and human centered design solution.
  • Apply ethical and professional practices and understand all aspects of the interior design practice by making use of interior design business fundamentals and professional skills, including operations, communications, and the ethical, legal and financial responsibilities of the practitioner.
