This is a Policy Revision

Existing Policy URL: https://campus.collegeforcreativestudies.edu/policy/building-policies/

Description of Change

The addition to the policy outlines restrictions to use of campus grounds. Currently the policy does not contain any language about the general campus grounds, only building specific policies. The policy statement listed below would be added to create a new subsection in the existing policy. The policy contacts should also be discussed and/or updated.

Policy Statement

Campus Grounds

Temporary structures (tents, sheds, yurts, etc.) are not permitted on CCS property without prior written approval from the Vice President of Finance in consultation with College Facilities, Campus Safety, and Dean of Students. Requests for temporary structures will be considered if they do not impede campus access, pose no safety concerns, and will not cause damage to College property. Temporary structures for official College events do not need formal written approval but should consult the offices listed above prior to the event.

Hammocks and other types of hanging furniture are not permitted to be attached to campus trees, light poles or buildings.

Any type of modification to the campus grounds is not permitted.

Reason for Policy

The policy creates a formal structure for the approval or denial of temporary structures like tents, sheds, etc. Will allow the College to restrict these types of structures by policy if deemed necessary.
