Classroom Observation Evaluation Requirement
Chairs must complete a Classroom Observation Evaluation for all new adjunct faculty and for any full-time faculty member who has not taught at the College for one year or more. These classroom observations must be conducted and documented no later than the end of the eighth week of the semester. Chairs may also conduct Classroom Observation Evaluations for any faculty member who has received poor student reviews or when other concerns arise that may impact classroom performance. Upon completion of a Classroom Observation Evaluation, the Chair must provide a copy of the evaluation to the reviewed faculty member and upload the document to the Classroom Observation Google Drive for institutional record keeping.
Semester-End Performance Evaluation Requirement
In addition to the eighth week classroom observation, all new adjunct faculty and all full-time faculty returning to teaching after an absence of one year or more must receive a formal semester-end performance evaluation. This evaluation should reflect the Chair’s review of classroom observation materials, student feedback, and any additional evidence of teaching effectiveness gathered throughout the semester.
