Program Learning Outcomes – Foundations

Upon graduation, the Foundations program will have prepared students to:

  1. Use drawing as a visual thinking tool for communication, idea development, and creating finished artwork, from observation and imagination.
  2. Apply principles of 2D, 3D, and 4D design and color theory with appropriate craftsmanship across a variety of media and disciplines.
  3. Develop core digital competencies in organization, communication, workflow, and basic design software.
  4. Demonstrate basic fabrication skills by creating orthographic drawings, constructing projects, and applying safe shop practices.
  5. Develop strategies for critical analysis and professional art and design practice to evaluate projects, present ideas and manage time effectively in a collaborative setting.
