{"id":110,"date":"2019-03-20T17:02:30","date_gmt":"2019-03-20T17:02:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/campus.collegeforcreativestudies.edu\/staff-handbook\/?page_id=110"},"modified":"2020-05-18T14:41:33","modified_gmt":"2020-05-18T14:41:33","slug":"staff-handbook-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/campus.collegeforcreativestudies.edu\/staff-handbook\/","title":{"rendered":"Staff Handbook"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This handbook for\nadministrative staff provides information on the resources, policies and\nprocedures of the College for Creative Studies.&nbsp;\nIt is intended for all employees whose principal responsibilities at the\nCollege involve non-teaching activities.&nbsp;\nIt applies to any full-time employee who is not designated as \u201cfull-time\nfaculty,\u201d even if they do some teaching.&nbsp;\nOccasionally, administrative staff members also will serve as adjunct\nfaculty.&nbsp; In those cases, this handbook\ncovers their full-time employment, and the adjunct faculty handbook applies to\ntheir assignment as adjunct faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This handbook describes your\nemployment relationship with CCS as an administrative staff member.&nbsp; It includes information on compensation,\nbenefit programs, and work schedules.&nbsp;\nIts contents also will help you in understanding the College, in\nfulfilling your responsibilities, and in achieving the best for our students.&nbsp; The faculty and administrative staff work\ntogether in accomplishing the College\u2019s mission of nurturing creativity and\neducating students for careers in the exciting fields of visual arts and\ndesign.&nbsp; Our collective dedication to the\nneeds of our students; to high standards of education and service; and to continually\nstrengthening our educational, student support, and administrative programs and\nprocesses gives character and quality to CCS as a place of learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While we hope your\nrelationship with the College will be long and mutually beneficial, it should\nbe recognized that this employee handbook is not a contract of employment.&nbsp; Employment with the College for Creative\nStudies is voluntary, for an unspecified term and is \u201cat will.\u201d&nbsp; No contract for employment shall be valid\nunless in writing and signed by the President.&nbsp;\nAs a member of the College, your employment with the College for\nCreative Studies is voluntarily entered into, and you are free to resign at any\ntime.&nbsp; Similarly, CCS is free to conclude\nits employment relationship with you at any time, with or without cause and\nwith or without prior notice.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contents of this handbook\nhave been approved by the Board of Trustees.&nbsp;\nThe appendices are an integral part of the handbook, and the handbook as\na whole represents CCS policy.&nbsp; CCS\u2019s\npolicies are in accord with Federal and Michigan employment law, and the\npolicies in this handbook will be interpreted consistent with those\nobligations. Nothing in this handbook is intended to, nor will it be\ninterpreted in a manner that would, interfere with employees\u2019 rights to engage\nin concerted activity for mutual aid and protection under Section 7 of the\nNational Labor Relations Act or to engage in any other protected activity.&nbsp; Policies and procedures may change from time\nto time.
