The position is not intended to eliminate standard office and academic procedures elsewhere on campus, more to provide a supplemental resource for students. The Student Advocate&#8217;s primary rule is to ensure that policies are enforced fairly and that students are fully informed of what is being done and why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Student Advocate will:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Assist students in accomplishing the expeditious resolution of their problems and concerns.<\/li><li>Provide confidential and informal assistance to students.<\/li><li>Advocate for fairness.<\/li><li>Act as a source of information and referral.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of the student concerns that are anticipated being heard by the Student Advocate are listed below. Examples of student concerns brought to the attention of the Student Advocate include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Facility issues:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Environmental safety issues within classrooms\/labs<\/li><li>Campus safety<\/li><li>A problem with a particular faculty or staff member<\/li><li>Office hours not accommodating to student needs<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Student-to-student issues:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Harassment<\/li><li>Vandalism of work<\/li><li>Suspicion of theft<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Financial issues:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Questions or concerns about College policies<\/li><li>Personal issues or concerns (may or may not directly relate to the College)<\/li><li>Academic issues or concerns<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Student Advocate position was created to provide students a consistent, centralized point of contact for questions, concerns and\/or problems they may be experiencing &hellip;
