{"id":122,"date":"2018-01-26T00:00:12","date_gmt":"2018-01-26T05:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/campus.collegeforcreativestudies.edu\/policy\/?p=122"},"modified":"2024-11-14T14:05:25","modified_gmt":"2024-11-14T19:05:25","slug":"curricular-practical-training-cpt-international-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/campus.collegeforcreativestudies.edu\/policy\/curricular-practical-training-cpt-international-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Curricular Practical Training (CPT) &#8211; International Students"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading ccs-policy-subheading\">Eligbility Criteria for CPT<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Junior standing: Completion of all freshman and sophomore courses, including liberal arts requirements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enrollment on a full-time basis for at least one entire academic year (two consecutive semesters).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must have a job or internship offer to apply for CPT and the job\/internship must relate directly to your CCS field of study as an integral part of the established curriculum. This must be verified and approved by your Department Chair.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading ccs-policy-subheading\">Your Complete CPT Application Must Include:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Office of Partnerships Internship Approval Form: signed by Department Chair, Associate Dean, Academic Advising, Office of Partnerships, and Global Engagement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Registration of appropriate credit: if your CPT will occur in the summer, you must register the internship course that corresponds to your major. Internship for credit must be authorized by Career Services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Degree Audit, confirming Junior standing and 2.8 cumulative GPA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Current I-20 and I-94.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Job\/Internship Offer Letter. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CPT Application Process<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When you receive a job or internship offer, notify the Director of Global Engagement and the Assistant Director in Career Services. You will work with Career Services to have the internship approved for credit, and you will work with the Director of GEO to obtain CPT approval and a new I-20.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The GEO and Office of Partnerships both have paperwork that must be completed, submitted, and approved before you will be able to engage in CPT.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><g class=\"gr_ gr_21 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Style replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"21\" data-gr-id=\"21\">When<\/g> your CPT is approved, you will receive a new I-20 listing your employer on page 2.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>CPT approval takes time.
