Welcome

The library has over 60,000 books, 150,000 e-books, 275 periodicals, 64 electronic databases, and over 2,500 videos and DVDs, 90 percent of which deal with art and design. The college’s digital database, Luna, is available online for study and classroom presentation; please see Academic Technology for training. 
You will need your current CCS ID to check out books. Students may check out books for two weeks with one renewal if there are no holds placed on the book. DVDs may be checked out for three days with a fine of $1 per day.  There is no grace period for return of DVDs.  Other materials have varying check out fines; please check at the circulation desk 313.664.7642.

Reference assistance is available at all times the library is open. Color & Materials Library

The Color & Materials Library is located in room 925 in the A. Alfred Taubman Center.

Visual Resources

Visual Resources, selects and manages the content of CCS’ digital image database referred to as Luna. Containing over 315,000 high-resolution images for teaching and research, users can explore and gather images using keywords, zoom in to images for close-up viewing, and pull in external media from Flickr. Whether you choose to use the software slideshow features, or download into PowerPoint, Luna offers one-stop searching.

You can access Luna through the Quick Links menu located on the left-hand side of your Blackboard home page. Then click “Login” located on the upper right of the Luna page. Use your Blackboard credentials. To search all collections together, click “All Collections” on your left. Downloading privileges can be obtained after signing a Statement of Agreement and Legal Responsibility (link for this is in the center of the Luna home page.)
